Roald Dahl at Downside

Intrigued by a hint that Roald Dahl visited the vicinity of Downside whilst a young man selling kerosene for Shell, we thought we’d have a delve into our library collections.

We’ve since learnt that the celebrated children’s author visited Downside in 1984 to give a Sixth Form lecture for pupils and that we have signed copies of The BFG and Boy, alongside a photograph of Dahl outside the Old House!
