Over the last year, the Archives and Library team have been working on developing a new guidebook.

Following the discovery of an archive box with every edition, this latest book contains information collated from previous versions with additional content and previously unseen photographs. 

Also new to this edition are ‘Spotlight’ sections, which pull out stories such as biographies of the monks and ‘Did You Know’ facts.

The book can be used for a self guided tour around all the major points in the Abbey Church, including:

• The Shrine of St Oliver Plunkett
• The Tomb of Cardinal Gasquet
• Stonework by Dom Hubert Van Zeller
• The memorial dedicated to the Downside Boys who died in WWI
• The Compton Organ

The guidebook is now available for preorder exclusively on our website here. We expect delivery in mid Autumn 2017.
