BBC Radio 3 record at Downside Abbey

The Monastic Community were delighted to be able to welcome presenter, Sara Mohr-Pietsch, from BBC Radio 3’s Music Matters programme, to Downside earlier this week to record an edition for future broadcast. 

Sara, and producer Hannah, joined the Monastic Community for the whole day – from Matins to Compline – to understand how and why monks use music during each and every day. The programme was broadcast on Saturday 15th April, at 12.15pm on BBC Radio 3 and is available online for 12 months.
