PGCE Students visit Monastic Library

The Monastery Library welcomed an enthusiastic group of religion PGCE students and theology students from Bristol University recently to look at some of our extensive collections.

As part of a larger visit to Downside, the group was given a tour of the Monastery Library by Dom Anselm and saw some material from the library collections including medieval manuscripts, rare books and items from our large theological section. The visit also included a talk on Benedictine life, a tour of the Abbey and supper. The group also joined the Monastic Community for vespers.
