Description

In the 1590’s many believed that Henry VIII’s break with Rome was a disaster, and the country was nearly plunged into civil war.

Clare Asquith explores the possibility that Shakespeare and his contemporaries used coded methods to dodge censorship and air the explosive political issues of the day.
