Pilgrimage to the Holy Land 2016

Dom Leo will lead a group of pilgrims to the Holy Land, from 4th – 13th June. 

The team of 33 will journey through Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Tiberias, Nazareth and Banias, celebrating Lauds, Vespers and Compline most days. Click here to view the programme.

Looking ahead to the trip, Dom Leo says, “This pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a wonderful opportunity for a broad spectrum of people associated with Downside to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. So many people return with their faith intensified and their understanding of the Gospels enlarged. It is also an opportunity to support by our presence the Christian community in the Holy Land which is rapidly shrinking in adverse circumstances.”

Many friends of Downside will remember listening to Fr Mamdouh, of the School of Joy, Bethlehem, when he visited Downside last year.  The pilgrims look forward to meeting with Fr Mamdouh and the School of Joy during this visit.
