Downside at the Wells Literary Festival

Downside Abbey sponsored the appearance of BBC journalist, David Willey’s book at the Wells Festival of Literature. Called The Promise of Francis, Willey examines the first years of Pope Francis’ pontificate and in his talk he offered some speculation about the future.

Dom Leo, Dom Anselm, Dom Thaddäus and Br John were delighted to be able to go to lunch with David Willey and Emma Craigie (OG), the Chair of the Festival, and to hear his presentation. The book offers the thoughts of a seasoned Vatican watcher on what seems to be an unpredictable Pontiff.
