DOWNSIDE INSPIRES ADORATION AT ST BEDE’S COLLEGE, BRISTOL
20 Mar 2019
St Bede’s Catholic College in Bristol will be starting Adoration in its new chapel in the centre of the School, which has just been consecrated by the Bishop of Clifton, Declan Lang.
Dom Leo concelebrated Mass with the Parish Priest, Fr. Cosmos Ikirodah, after which more than 400 pupils adored the Blessed Sacrament displayed in a new monstrance. For many St Bede pupils, this was the first Adoration for them.
The Principal, Gary Maher, has arranged for Adoration to place in St Bede’s College chapel every Friday. He believes that Adoration, together with other initiatives, will strengthen School spiritually, and was most grateful for Downside’s support. Dom Leo was privileged to be able to present a new monstrance to St Bede’s on behalf of the monastic community at Downside Abbey.
Adoration at Downside has been taking place daily in the Crypt Chapel since the Feast of All Saints 2017. The Chapel is open for anyone to adore as a result of the dedication to Adoration of regular Adorers. Click here for details of where the Abbey Church is located.
