Downside Abbey’s online catalogue is available to view 24/7 with new accessions being added every week. The monks of Downside keep abreast of modern developments in all areas of research and welcome users to use their library and share their resources.

 The online catalogue can be accessed here. 

 At present we have over 5000 volumes catalogued, mainly of Early Modern English texts (‘Recusant’ books) and new accessions since 2017. All our latest accessions are added to the catalogue weekly and our Rare Book and Recusant collections continue to be catalogued. The Recusant collection has now been catalogued up to James II so we’ve got a good few decades before Emancipation!
