DOM JOHN BECOMES LECTOR
11 Aug 2020
Last week Dom John was instituted as a Lector. He has been a reader at the Mass and Divine Office since he entered the monastery, but this short ceremony at Mass last week made a difference.
A lector has an official ministry in the Church, which applies throughout the world (though he is not likely to be reading in Polish churches very soon!). He is also authorised to act as a catechist and to instruct people to receive the sacraments as a minister of the Church.
This is the first of a few steps on the road to the priesthood. Keep watching for more news when applicable!
