We are deeply saddened to hear of the unexpected death of Fr Alexander George over the weekend. Although he had transferred to Belmont Abbey, he had been a monk of Downside for many years.
He underwent complicated surgery last year and was in intensive care for a number of weeks, his condition being quite precarious, but he survived and recovered gradually, although never fully.
May he rest in peace. Amen.
