CLOSURE OF CHURCHES

It is with sadness that we have taken the decision, following the government and Bishop Declan’s advice, to close the abbey church for the foreseeable future.

It had been hoped that we would be able to keep the church open to allow a refuge for quiet and private prayer during these difficult times. Unfortunately, the very serious nature of the pandemic means that this is no longer possible. Any chance, even a possibly remote one, that a visitor might pick up the virus whilst visiting is too painful to think about. We also respect and endorse the decision that everyone should remain at home at this time.

Please be assured that we pray daily for all our friends and visitors and those suffering from Covid-19, together with the wonderful caring medical and care workers who look after us all.
