Canterbury Cathedral Furniture Project

During this year, Father Leo, Father Michael, OG Stephen Stokes (1978) and various Downside pupils have been involved in a furniture project for Canterbury Cathedral.

The new prayer chapel at the Cathedral now sports four pieces of stunning work from Downside and there’s more to come! The project will be completed by the end of October, after which, Father Michael is hoping to arrange for a new woodworking project to the school at Norwich Catholic Cathedral. Watch this space!

On the Canterbury Cathedral project, Mr Stokes commented: “I spent a delightful day carving in Father Michael’s workshop being closely observed by my teachers. To have the opportunity of have my work in Canterbury Cathedral is an immense honour. Thank you again for the opportunity”.
